What a weekend for driving World Champion Boyd Exell and his team!

The striking black KWPN horses Carlos and Celviro lead the team with huge expressive paces and impressed the dressage judges to go into the lead with a score of 34.45, putting pressure on the other drivers going into the marathon.

With the new combination in the team, Boyd played it safe in the marathon, but was forced to pick up the pace after a glitch on obstacle number 7, leaving him with less than a cone in hand going into the final day.

In true Boyd style he rose to the challenge and pulled off a superb round in the cones, clear within the time to secure him victory at this prestigious event.

“It’s a relief to be able to win it for my team, who are mostly British and put in so much hard work”

Boyd was presented his award by Her Majesty the Queen, who was celebrating her 90th birthday at this spectacular event.
