Based in the Netherlands, Boyd is a stalwart of the carriage driving scene. At 16, Boyd won the Australian pairs championship. Aged 21 he left Australia for Britain to improve his riding and especially his carriage driving talent - with remarkable success. Boyd has bathed in success as a member of Australian teams and as a trainer of British Driving teams in numerous World Championships.
As the reigning FEI World Cup™ Champion Boyd Exell won the FEI Driving Leg in Geneva for the 8th time in his career on Sunday 13th December 2015. The Thursday afternoon at London’s Olympia saw yet another win for Boyd Exell in the Dodson & Horrell Extreme Carriage Driving Class, cheered on by a very enthusiastic crowd, unfortunately a ball down in the final put Boyd in 2nd place overall. With 30 points, Boyd was in the lead of the ranking and he secured his ticket for the Final in Bordeaux February 2016, but finished in 2nd overall.
2016 has seen Boyd dominate the outdoor series, wins at Valkenswaard, Royal Windsor, Samur, Aachen put him in good stead for the World 4-in-hand Championships at Breda NED where he retained his World Champion status after three super rounds.
Hopefully Boyd will now have a well earned rest before training and preparation resumes for the start of the Indoor season in November 2016.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Boyd and his team - it’s such an exciting, high speed sport and another area for Woof Wear to showcase its products.” Ali Felton, Sales Director.
