Tamsyn started riding on a Shetland Pony at the tender age of five. Her first ambitions were in Show Jumping and she even went to Horse of the Year Show at Wembley several times.
Soon however, Tamsyn discovered her passion - and talent - for Eventing which got rewarded with team bronze at the Pony Europeans with ‘Harry Hot Shot’ and the Junior Europeans with ‘Tully Lane’. In order to pursue her passion Tamsyn has spent many hours on the road; so far she has travelled to Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, and Italy to name just a few.
Unfortunately Tamsyn has had very bad luck in the past when she lost four horses due to illnesses and injuries in only one year. She also had two horses selected for the Young Rider team but unfortunately did not get the chance to go.
Thanks to her determination and great support from her team and family – Tamsyn is now back on her feet and building up a string of horses to compete at high level again.
2015 was a good year for Tamsyn and her team. Sharing her time between teaching and competing, she brought home some super results in both Bristish Eventing and British Show Jumping. We have seen some new faces join the Hutchins equine team with some homebred horses coming through the ranks.
The most advanced horses at her yard near Looe in Cornwall are Royal Theatre who is currently competing at 3*, Watt A Dodge 2* as well as her promising homebred youngster Mr Tumnus who is competing at 1*.
More recently Tamsyn has been organising and overseeing the new event fixture in Cornwall, Port Elliot along side the East Cornwall Hunt. The event as been run twice now and all went well and ran smoothly, so smoothly that it is now on the fixture list for next years British Eventing fixtures list.
